Kineton Electrical Faul Injection (KEFI)

Kefi is a versatile multiple-channel fault injection unit designed specifically for low-voltage automotive systems. It can be used both in-vehicle and in HIL/Test Bench environments, providing a comprehensive solution for electrical failure simulation, including short circuits to potential (VBATT/GND), open circuits, and short circuits between pins. Kefi is highly configurable and can be adapted to work with all the major ECUs used in conventional, hybrid, and electric vehicles. With Kefi, automotive engineers can easily and accurately test and diagnose faults, ensuring that their systems meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.

Main features

  • Multiple Faults Simulation: simulates multiple faults simultaneously via a series of relays, independently controlled by microcontrollers.
  • User-Friendly Interface: simple graphical interface, available for use with dSpace and Vector software tools, facilitating the management and control of KEFI.
  • Waterproof Design: designed to be compact and waterproof, making it suitable for use in a variety of environments.
  • CAN Protocol Compatibility: easily controlled through the CAN protocol using a customized .dbc file, enabling seamless integration with a range of ECUs in conventional, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
