Kineton is seeking a Network Engineer for the Aerospace area.
We are seeking a railway expert with solid experience in the design and management of wired and wireless IP infrastructures in mission-critical contexts with high reliability and resilience. The candidate will work on communication projects between onboard and ground (Train-to-Ground) systems, contributing to the definition of robust TLC architectures that comply with the highest regulatory standards.
You will join our team, taking a key role in the following activities:
- Design wired IP networks (Core, Distribution, Access Layer) for critical railway infrastructure;
- definition and validation of the Bill of Materials best suited to project needs, including environmental and regulatory requirements (EMI/EMC, RAMS, HSE);
- configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of complex IP networks;
- design of wireless networks for train-to-train communications with star and ring topologies, antennas and/or radiating cables;
- simulation of radio propagation in railway environments;
- Coordinate with technical teams and provide support for technical documentation and integration activities.
Key Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering;
- Good knowledge of the English language;
Wired networks:
- Experience in designing and managing high-availability and resilient IP architectures;
- Cisco CCNP certification or technical equivalent for alternative vendors;
- IP network deployment and troubleshooting skills.
Wireless networks:
- experience in designing wireless systems for railway environments;
- knowledge of Train-to-Ground topologies (ring, star, etc.);
- use of radio propagation simulation tools,
- experience in configuring, implementing and maintaining complex wireless networks in railway environments.
