We offer a great incentive package valued at € 2.000, you will receive payment during this 16 week course plus meals, and on top of this, upon completion of the course you have the possibility of getting a permanent position here in Kineton. After the last Academy, around 90% of this successful candidates were granted a full-time position with Kineton within only 3 months of completing the course.

Prerequisites

Master Degrees in Electronics, Electrics, Computer Science and Automation.

Intermediate to Advanced level English verbal and writing skills.

Introductory Automotive Course

In the automotive module, Academy students have the chance to study the fundamentals of alternate internal combustion engines used for both light and heavy vehicle drive. After reviewing some of the basics of heat engines, the module delves into different aspects of particular motors and their apparatuses, as well as the operation of the control systems of heat engines.

The course will present the principal functional components of an internal combustion engine, describe the mathematical models that simulate their behaviour, and go over the main control techniques employed in the automotive area. Finally, the module will present both the development methodology called “Model Based Design”, which today is one of the main approaches for the design and the implementation of control and management strategies in the automotive world, and the validation technique called HIL (Hardware In the Loop).

H.E.V.

One of the Academy’s objectives is to give a more in-depth look at hybrid motors. Hybrid vehicle drivetrains are so called because they are composed of a combustion engine (petrol or diesel) and an electric motor. The success of these types of models is determined by the low amount of fuel needed, which is due to the power the electric motor supplies. Zero emission engines pull energy from a battery pack usually located below the platform, which is recharged from a wall outlet or through on-board systems.

A hybrid platform can be arranged parallel or in series. In a parallel system, both of the motors provide the wheels with torque. Meanwhile, in a system in series, the engine isn’t connected directly to the wheels but only supplies the electric motor with energy.

The objective of the course is to study design choices, control techniques for an electric motor, and battery management.

Infotainment Systems

The infotainment system sector is one of the sectors that has evolved most in recent years. Thanks to these systems, all of the multimedia functions of a vehicle, such as smart phones, navigation systems, TVs, and audio speakers, can be used intuitively. Moreover, infotainment systems let drivers monitor the status of their trip with information on tyre pressure, on-board computer data, and control unit settings.

The Academy lessons will present a series of software solutions capable of implementing the principal functionalities on the market today while following the most important rules of software development, in addition to the most modern smart device technologies.
